This article from Motor Trend covers the announcement that Shelby Automobiles was canning the CSX and Dakota programs - the world just wasn't ready for large-scale 'tuner' car production. Shelby was to concentrate on engineering programs (such as the Viper and ill-fated Can-Am car) before parting company with Chrysler in '92.
